Grimm set to become first female President of the Virginia Auctioneers Association

The Virginia Auctioneers Association is proud to announce the election of Wendy Grimm as Vice President for the year 2023. Wendy is a second-generation auctioneer with over six years of experience calling bids. She is the first woman to be elected as Vice President of the association, and she will automatically ascend to the role of President in the year 2024.

Wendy Grimm comes from a family with over 50 years of experience in the auction business. She learned the art of setting up and operating a successful auction at a young age. She graduated from the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in 2015. Wendy went on to earn her Auction Marketing Management and Benefit Auction Specialist designations from the National Auctioneers Association. Her experience includes selling in all types of venues, ranging from local community churches to warehouses to stadiums.

Wendy has served as a Director on the Virginia Auctioneers Association’s board for the last four years and oversaw the association’s marketing and promotion initiatives as the Marketing Committee Chair. Her dedication to the association and the auction industry has earned her recognition from the National Auctioneers Association. Wendy was recently honored with the Bob Steffes Rising Star Award at the 2022 International Auctioneer Championship in San Diego, Calif.

“I am honored to have been elected as Vice President of the Virginia Auctioneers Association,” said Wendy Grimm. “I am excited to continue to serve the auction industry in this expanded role, and I look forward to working with our members to promote and advance the auction profession in Virginia.”

The Virginia Auctioneers Association is a professional organization that promotes the auction method of marketing and provides its members with educational and networking opportunities.
