From the President’s Desk

Fellow Members,

I can truly say I have never been more proud to be a WAA member as I do right now.

We are half way through the year and I am seeing so much growth from our members…

  • Starting with the great attendance and participation at the convention in February.
  • Members attending CAI courses in late March to further their knowledge and joining the 1% of all auctioneers nationwide.
  • An outstanding Day on the Hill with, what I believe, a record attendance – showing the importance of meeting with legislators and helping them understand the auction business and laws pertaining.
  • Having WAA Representation at the national level at NAA day on the hill.
  • An informative, and quite beneficial, membership meeting with the ATF.
  • Outstanding appearance from WAA Members attending classes, competing in IAC, winning awards and sharing experience of championship at the National Auction Association Conference.

We’ve also had a number of opportunities to bring awareness to the Auction Industry so far this year as well:

  • National Auctioneers week we saw tremendous support to bring awareness to the auction profession.
  • The summer event at the Breakfast on the Farm was a huge hit giving a huge audience the opportunity to experience an auction for perhaps the first time.
  • Our state champion speaking at the Wisconsin State FFA Convention about auctions, community and leadership.

I have never seen a better time to be a member of the Wisconsin Auctioneers as I see right now. I know everyone is extremely busy with normal day-to-day auctions, volunteering at your local fair auctions and community activities. I want to thank each and every one of you for your contribution to the Wisconsin Auctioneers Association as a member and working together. A few upcoming events to keep in mind:

  • August 9, 2023 – Wisconsin State Fair is another huge presence for the WAA. Many members will be assisting with the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Auction. Come show your support and enjoy the State Fair. We will have a gathering at the Case IH coliseum at 1:00pm on the west end at Blue Ribbon Chicken Shack. It would be great to see you there.
  • August 29th, 2023 – Zoom Membership Meeting @ 8:30am. We will discuss the recent name change of the NAA and also anything you wish to talk about.
  • September 5th, 2023 – Our Board Meeting will be held @ 8:30am by zoom also and I’m sure we will have a lot to discuss.
  • January 29-31, 2024 – Our Annual Convention! Will be held in Mauston at The Lodge. Our theme will be “Working Together”. Start making plans now to attend if you haven’t already.

I’m excited about the second part of the term. Please feel free to call me anytime and again thank you each for being the best members of the Wisconsin Auctioneers Association.
