National Auctioneers Day

National Auctioneers Day is celebrated on the third Thursday of April, in honor of auctioneers and the practice of auctioning. It takes place on April 20 this year. The holiday is the initiative of the National Auctioneers Association and has been celebrated since 1996.

National Auctioneers Week is May 1-6, 2023, which is National Auctioneers Day. Annually, National Auctioneers Week is the week leading up to the first Saturday in May - National Auctioneers Day. NAA members take part in a week-long promotional campaign that highlights the auction method of marketing.

The OAA is proud to be hosting the NAA Designation Course Auction Marketing Management (AMM).  Instructors will be John Schultz and Sara Rose Bytner. The course will be held at the Marriott Northwest in Dublin, OH., October 9-11, 2023. Please click this link to register. This is a 2-1/2 day course. Course will run from 8:00am – 5:00pm on Monday and Tuesday, 8:00am – 12:00pm (noon) Wednesday. The fee to attend is to cover coffee, lunches and snacks. Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice

USPAP 15 hr - $525 / USPAP 7 hr update - $365       Registration includes class materials The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) is the generally recognized ethical and performance standards for the appraisal profession in the United States. USPAP is updated every two years so that appraisers have the information they need to deliver unbiased and thoughtful opinions of value. To become a personal property appraiser in the United States, appraisers must take the 15-Hour National USPAP Course (or its equivalent). This is also a requirement to earn your GPPA designation. After taking the 15-Hour National USPAP Course, personal property appraisers must take the 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course (or its equivalent) once every two calendar years. This is also a requirement to maintain your GPPA or MPPA designation.
