Each year, the Wisconsin Auctioneers Association (WAA) works to protect and strengthen our profession—not just through education and networking, but by ensuring auctioneers have a seat at the table when laws and regulations are being shaped.

What Is Day on the Hill?
Day on the Hill is our opportunity to meet directly with state legislators and their staff to share who we are, what we do, and why auctioneers matter to Wisconsin’s economy and communities. This event is about building relationships, educating decision-makers, and advocating for policies that support professional auctioneers and the consumers we serve.
Why It Matters
Legislation impacts everything from auction licensing and consumer protections to sales tax rules and business regulations. If auctioneers are not engaged, decisions could be made without a full understanding of how our industry operates—and that can lead to unintended consequences for auction businesses and the public.
