Bill to exempt gun safes from sales tax advances with passage by Assembly Committee

MADISON – Today, the Wisconsin Assembly Committee on Ways and Means voted unanimously to advance Assembly Bill 10, which would encourage safe storage of firearms by exempting gun safes from sales tax. Representative Lisa Subeck released the following statement:

“Exempting gun safes from sales tax encourages safe storage of firearms to prevent accidental shootings and keep our communities safe. This common sense legislation is the least we can do to curb gun violence and save lives.”

Rep. Subeck represents the 79th Assembly District, and serves as Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
