2018 WAA Auxiliary Hall of Fame Inductee

Julianne J. Gill (Julie) was born January 29th, 1951 on the coldest day of the year (-35 degrees), in Monroe, WI.  She didn’t speak a word until she was 2 years old, but hasn’t stopped talking since, according to her father, Don Teasdale.

She attended “Glenville”, a one room country school, for 7 years, then on to school in Shullsburg Wisconsin, where she graduated from Shullsburg High School. She then pursued nurses training at Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Madison where she developed her love for surgery.

Julie was married in 1974 to her high school sweetheart, Randy Gill, after they had gone together for eight years. On that day, the minister said they had already been going together longer than many people stay married!!!

Julie is the mother of 4 children–Brett, Brad, Brooke and Brittany. She is also the proud grandmother of 15 beautiful grandchildren.

Julie has always been an outstanding wife, mother and grandmother. She is the driving force, inspiration, and glue that kept her family together!!

In August of 2016 , she retired after a 44 year career as both a general and surgical nurse.  The last 15 years was spent @ St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison where she worked in cardio-vascular surgery.  The last year of this employment was as the head charge nurse for the  cardio-vascular surgery department.   She loved the profession and was extremely talented at her job.

Julie also shares her love for the auction business.  She is part of Teasdale-Gill Auction Service and is active as a cashier or clerk for the auctions.  When she first started attending the WAA conventions, she became a member of the WAA Auxilliary and has been active since then.

She has been President and is currently Vice President. The pie auction is the main fundraiser and she is always helping to drive to get the pies and set up for that noon auction. It was an honor to present Julie Gill with this year’s 2018 WAA Auxiliary Hall of Fame award.
