2025 WAA President and Vice President

WAA President Scott Werlein with ProCounty Auction Service

I am delighted to introduce Scott Werlein, a dedicated auctioneer with over three decades of experience in the industry.

Scott, a second-generation auctioneer, was raised on a farm in western Wisconsin, where he developed a deep appreciation for the auction business while working alongside his father. His journey began at local farm auctions, assisting with grooming cattle, washing machinery, and preparing items for sale day.

In 1991, Scott attended the renowned Missouri Auction School, where he refined his skills and embarked on a successful career. Since then, he has conducted various auctions, including auto, estate, farm, heavy equipment, livestock, and real estate auctions.

As the proud owner of ProCountry, LLC Auction Service, Scott and his wife Jennifer conduct live and online auctions across Western Wisconsin. Together with their three sons, they reside in the charming rural community of Gilmanton, WI.

Scott’s educational credentials reflect his commitment to professional growth and include:

  • Certified Auctioneer Institute (CAI) Graduate – 2019
  • Certified Appraisers Guild of America – 2007
  • Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from the University of Wisconsin River Falls – 1996
  • Associate degree from Chippewa Valley Technical College – 1993
  • Missouri Auction School, Kansas City, MO – 1991

Throughout his career, Scott has achieved milestones, including being named the 2009 Wisconsin State Champion Auctioneer. His vast auction experience includes working with prestigious companies such as Nitke Auctioneers and Wayne Pike Auction Company II for heavy equipment, Manheim Northstar and Manheim Minneapolis for car auctions, as well as livestock auctions at Central Livestock and Bloomington Livestock Exchange. His extensive experience spans over 30 years in farm and general auctions.

Scott’s occupational background includes service in the United States Marine Corps from 1987 to 1990. He has been a licensed real estate broker in Wisconsin since 1990 and has worked as a commodity feed broker and Series 3 commodity futures broker, specializing in grain and livestock marketing.

Scott is actively involved in various professional organizations, reflecting his dedication to the community and industry. His memberships include:

  • Wisconsin Auctioneers Association
  • Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association – Board of Directors (2005-2010)
  • Veterans of Foreign Wars – Life Member
  • Mondovi Sportsman Club
  • Wisconsin State FFA Sponsors Board Member (2002-2004)
  • Gilmanton Community Club Life Member

Scott is optimistic about the future of the auction industry and is looking forward to serving as the President of the Wisconsin Auctioneers Association. He believes that nothing good is accomplished without passion and commitment and encourages everyone to collectively commit to making 2025 the best year yet!

WAA Vice President Ryan Adams with Adams Auction and Real Estate

My name is Ryan Adams of from Prairie du Chien, WI and I am running for Vice President of the Wisconsin Auctioneers Association.  I am a first generation auctioneer who started my business Adams Auction and Real Estate with my brother in 2006. I love the auctioneering industry and what it has done for me.   While live bid calling is a true passion of mine, and currently sell multiple live auctions per week, I still incorporate many online sales into my business as well.   When not working I enjoy spending time with my family, Wife Megan, and 3 kids-Cash(7), Evelyn, (6) and Natalie (4).  I aslo enjoy cattle, hunting, and spending time outdoors.

I have served on the Wisconsin Auctioneers board for the past 3 years and I have enjoyed my time on the board. I believe we moved the association in a good direction and with your vote I hope to keep progressing forward while elevating together.
