SUMMARY:Certified Auctioneers Institute
DESCRIPTION:CAI is different from NAA’s other designations. It’s a three-year program in which attendees spend a week each year onsite at Indiana University. It’s an intensive program involving late nights working on proposals and other projects that happen in the time between classes. \nCAI\, unlike other designations\, focuses on the business of the auction industry rather than on a particular asset class. While attendees learn about different types of auctions\, the focus is on business planning\, development and structure. Attendees register for CAI I\, CAI II\, and CAI III in successive years. Gaps between CAI I\, II and III of more than two years require approval of the Education Director\, and often are addressed by having attendees audit CAI classes for a year before returning to the program.

DESCRIPTION:NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Meeting of Members of Wisconsin Auctioneers Association will be held on Tuesday\, January 30th\, 2024\, at The Lodge at Mauston\, 104 Lodge Lane\, Mauston\, WI 53948\, for the purpose of electing members of the Board of Directors and transacting such other business as may properly come before the Meeting. \n \nThe annual meeting for the purpose of electing directors and the transaction of such other business as may come before the meeting shall be held during the annual convention each year at such time and place as the Board may determine. \nEach auctioneer member who has paid dues and is otherwise in good standing shall have one vote upon each matter submitted to a vote at any meeting of the corporation\, annual or special. Each auction company member shall have one vote at any meeting of the Corporation\, annual or special\, by a designated representative who shall not be one and the same as a voting auctioneer member\, i.e. the vote of an auction company cannot be cast by a voting auctioneer member from his/her auction company. \nWith respect to the election of directors\, each voting member/auction company representative entitled to vote shall cast one (I) vote for as many different positions as there are vacancies to be filled. Voting shall be by secret ballot unless all members present at the meeting waive such requirement. Proxy voting may be allowed provided he/she is present at any part of the conference or meeting where an election is to take place. Absentee voting shall not otherwise be allowed. \nAssociate and trade members shall not have voting privileges. An honorary member shall not be entitled to vote unless he/she was a member in good standing at the time of his/her\nelection as an honorary member. Majority rules on all votes with one exception. (See Article III\, Section 3(a) Method of Election in the by-laws.)

DESCRIPTION:USPAP 15 hr – $525 / USPAP 7 hr update – $365       Registration includes class materials \n\nThe Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) is the generally recognized ethical and performance standards for the appraisal profession in the United States. USPAP is updated every two years so that appraisers have the information they need to deliver unbiased and thoughtful opinions of value.\n\n\n\n\n\nTo become a personal property appraiser in the United States\, appraisers must take the 15-Hour National USPAP Course (or its equivalent). This is also a requirement to earn your GPPA designation. After taking the 15-Hour National USPAP Course\, personal property appraisers must take the 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course (or its equivalent) once every two calendar years. Meet new people\, connect with good friends\, and share your story of being a woman in the auction industry. \nBut wait! It’s not just networking! Forum sessions have been created with you in mind. Discover a new way to take care of yourself or maybe just learn a different way to do something you already have in place. Hear about communication tactics\, verbal and visual\, that can put success into the palm of your hand. Hear from fellow women warriors who have had to learn how to advocate for themselves during rough times as they share their stories and wisdom. And not to be forgotten\, the journey through life is full of transitions. They can’t be avoided\, but the path can be smoother when we learn that others have words of wisdom\, we just have to listen! \nJoin Maria Milagros during Monday’s keynote address and workshop on Work/Life Balance. Be ready to be energized and reaffirm what you are all about! \nOn Tuesday\, plan on coming comfy and ready to strike a pose during the first morning session—a yoga pose that is.
