Antique / Vintage Road Show & Social

Navigating the future as the theme of the 2018 WAA convention held in January almost 150 people navigated to Stevens Point for the annual convention.  Sunday kicked off with the second annual “ANTIQUE/VINTAGE ROAD SHOW AND SOCIAL” which was centrally located in the convention center among the exhibitors tables.  As a community awareness function which was started to give back to the local community, this year’s donations where for the Portage County Humane Society.

The attendance this year brought people from a 40 mile radius of Stevens Point and of all ages.  Over 50 people carried in family heirlooms and collectable items for our auctioneer’s panel to give verbal appraisals.  From jewelry to framed photos, old gavels, dolls, musical instruments and other unique items all made their way to the road show this year.  With the assistance of Shirley Baumann, Carol Miller, Kathy Packard and Wayne Yoder among others met our guests who found out the age of items, the demand seen in the marketplace and the estimated value of the items.

Guests enjoyed watching and learning about not only their own items but to watch what other people brought to the road show.  We hope to keep this as a morning kick off to our annual convention in 2019.
