Bob Paffel inducted into Hall of Fame

Bob Paffel of Cumberland was inducted into the Wisconsin Auctioneer Hall of Fame at the annual conference Jan. 24-26 at the Kalahari Resort, Wisconsin Dells.  Bob started auctioneering at the age of 14 helping his father John.  After graduating from Cumberland High School in 1971, Bob attended a heavy equipment school in North Carolina and was an operator for several years.  He worked weekends helping at his father's auctions and soon came to know that he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps.  He attended Reisch School of Auctioneering (now World Wide College of Auctioneering) in Mason City, Iowa and the Wisconsin School of Real Estate in Milwaukee.  Bob was on the WAA Board of Directors for several years before serving as president in 1986-87.

Bob has been a certified firefighter with the Cumberland Fire Department for 35 years. He is an active member of the Augustana Lutheran Church in Cumberland where he has served on the church council.

Bob's interests include hunting, snowshoeing, camping and travel adventures.  His many adventuresome experiences includes hiking the Grand Canyon and a trip down the Amazon River in South America.  He enjoys spending time with his wife and family.  He has five children, six grandsons, two sisters, and two brothers.  His father John passed away last spring at the age of 90.  His wife Darlene, brother Mike and wife Renea, son Brian and his wife Darcy and two of his six grandsons were in attendance at the induction.
